In June and July 2022, Bromley residents had the ability to book or walk-in for a Wellbeing Check at Anerley Town Hall – with 55 residents over 6 sessions taking part. At these checks, people were able to have their heart disease and diabetes risk checked and had the choice of talking to a local GP about any health concerns that they have. Local residents were also signposted to social prescribers and organisations to help make lifestyle changes to improve their health.

Dr Adil Nayeem, GP Trainee at Bromley GP Alliance, said: “Running this clinic has been a great and interesting experience. Bringing these health checks to the local community has shown how the public is willing to take steps to engage with the NHS in non-traditional ways. This pilot has demonstrated the importance of maintaining flexibility with healthcare professionals and patients working together to help improve local health and identify unmet health needs.”
Thank you to all the Anerley residents who took part in our Wellbeing Checks to make them successful.
