Bromley GP Alliance are proud to announce that they have joined the Disability Confident Scheme run by the Department for Work and Pensions. The scheme supports employers to challenge attitudes, increase understanding and remove barriers to disability, ensuring that disabled people and those with long-term health conditions are able to fulfil their potential.
As part of their Disability Confident membership, Bromley GP Alliance currently sits at Level 1 as Disability Confident Committed. The organisation has agreed to the scheme commitments which encourages companies to provide inclusive and accessible recruitment, interviews for those who are disabled and support existing employees with disabilities or long term conditions.
Tara Field, Head of HR at Bromley GP Alliance, said: “Creating an inclusive and accessible environment within our organisation is incredibly important to us. By joining the Disability Confidence scheme we are able to work on positively changing attitudes, removing the stigma and preventing any barriers that may prevent applicants or our workforce from reaching their full potent and aspirations.”
The organisation aims to work through the 3 levels of the scheme to continue to create equal opportunities for disabled people.
