One Bromley partner organisations have signed up to the One Bromley Carers Charter, which outlines a shared approach on improving how unpaid carers are engaged, supported and consulted across the borough.
According to 2021 Census Data, there are over 25,000 unpaid carers in Bromley, with this likely to be an underestimate – the Carers Trust estimate there are over 30,000.
The Charter has 4 key commitment themes including:
- staff training and awareness,
- providing personalised information and support,
- actively identifying carers as partners in planning care,
- involving them as key partners when commissioning carers’ support services.
