BGPA is working with Bromley Education Training Hub (BETH) to run in-house phlebotomy training in order to meet the increasing demand for blood tests across Bromley.
The first training event was held on 6th May 2021 and resulted in 10 new recruits starting with BGPA. Each trainee phlebotomist will undergo practical training within the BGPA phlebotomy clinics and receive supervision overseen by our clinical team before becoming qualified phlebotomists.
BGPA has also invested in an advanced venepuncture and injection arm which provides complete venous access for phlebotomy practice. In view of the success of the recent training programmes and uptake, we are looking to run a second training programme in July for other interested applicants.
The training programme is free to all candidates on the proviso that once they have completed and passed their training that they will continue to work within BGPA phlebotomy for a minimum of 6 months on either a bank or substantive basis.
All new recruits are given a booklet to document their progress and demonstrate competency.
