The number of Covid-19 vaccinations administered from Bromley GP Alliance has reached over 200,000 in January. This milestone number was possible due to the three local vaccination sites and the supporting staff and volunteers.
The Covid team consisting of clinicians, assistants, administrators, volunteers and office staff have worked extremely hard to ensure that Bromley residents have been able to access the vaccine and receive greater protection against the virus. The health care staff across the Bromley GP Alliance sites have also shown incredible determination to support the Covid Vaccination team and ensure that all clinics operate at full capacity and as smoothly as possible.
The total vaccination figures from Bromley GP Alliance sites across Bromley are:
- Orpington Health and Wellbeing Centre: 101,928
- West Wickham and Shirley Baptist Church: 55,697
- Coldharbour (includes St Edwards Church): 30,148
- Community House: 22,439
Dr Peter Barker, Bromley GP and Director of BGPA, commented: “These vaccination figures are quite outstanding and reflect the amazing efforts of our teams across the three sites. Our clinical and non-clinical staff have worked tirelessly to deliver a first-class service which has attracted widespread praise from Patients and Politicians alike. We’d like to thank all our staff for your hard work in helping to deliver this service during a major Public Health crisis.”
He added: “We are also grateful to those agencies who have worked to encourage patients to attend for vaccination and to patients for coming forwards in such large numbers. If you haven’t yet had your booster vaccination, we would strongly encourage you to do so now. You can arrange it by calling 020 8175 0438”
Franca Jeavons, BGPA Covid Vaccination Manager, remarked her team’s admirable work stating: “It is difficult to summarise if a few sentences our gratitude to those that have supported us over the last year. As Bromley GP Alliance exceed over 200,000 vaccinations, it is quite overwhelming to think how everyone has pulled together to accomplish something truly amazing.”
“I wasn’t part of the initial team that started off the programme back in December 2020, however even to see how much it has evolved since March when I joined, really shows the efforts and dedication from everyone involved. None of this would have been possible without our committed workforce. Amongst our team we have retired GPs and nurses, individuals who were unfortunately made redundant from the effects of Covid-19, and those that just wanted to help alongside their current jobs – to all of which we owe an unmeasurable amount of thanks.”
Franca added, “Bromley GP Alliance could never put into words now grateful we are for volunteers. These individuals have selflessly supported in our clinics since the beginning of the Covid-19 Vaccination Programme, supporting with our Bromley resident’s vaccination experience, from start to finish. Knowing that these people come to work every day purely to support out of their goodness of their heart, is nothing less than humbling.”
If you haven’t yet come forward for your vaccination, please do so now – your completed vaccination set (first, second and booster doses) will provide you with protection against the virus. To book an appointment, please call 020 8175 0438.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all sites who have given up their normal day to day services, including Orpington Health & Wellbeing Centre, Community House, St Edwards Church, West Wickham & Shirley Baptist Church, Al-Emaan Centre Mosque and Coldharbour Leisure Centre.
