COVID-19 Vaccination Programme
The first phase of the NHS COVID-19 vaccination programme has begun in Bromley! Initially, the vaccination is being prioritised for those aged 80 years and over, care home workers and residents, and frontline health and care staff. See this leaflet explaining the reasons behind the priority groups.
Vaccinations will be delivered at a small number of hospital and GP sites. BGPA is working with Practices in Bromley to provide the vaccinations at the GP sites; no single Practice is undertaking this by themselves. Logistically, it takes a long time to set up the clinics and vaccine deliveries are being coordinated nationally so we are asking our patients to be patient.
When you become eligible for vaccination, you will receive an invitation to come forward for your vaccination. For most people, this will be a letter either from BGPA, the GP Practice or the national NHS. Some people might receive a text or phone call from BGPA or the GP Practice.
This is going to be a long-term programme and it will likely take until at least spring 2021 before all high-risk groups have been offered a COVID-19 vaccine.
Please help us and do not contact BGPA or the Practice or other NHS services to get an appointment for a COVID vaccination until you are contacted. Practice phone lines are very busy and your support is appreciated to keep phone lines open for people who need to make appointments for other health matters.
