New Drive in Phlebotomy Service

We are today launching a daily drive in clinic for patients who require blood tests but are unable to/do not wish to attend a local clinic based within a practice. The service will run four clinics per week for vulnerable and shielding patients and one clinic per week for those with covid-19 related symptoms.

You will remain in your car whilst having your blood taken.

Patient must be able to get to the clinic in their own car or a family members.

Location: Beckenham Beacon Hospital Car Park, 379 Croydon Road, Beckenham, BR3 3QL

Opening Times:
Mondays 13:00 – 16:00
Tuesdays 09:30 – 13:00
Wednesdays 13:00 – 16:00
Thursdays 09:30 – 13:00
Fridays 13:00 – 16:00

My 80 year old mother went today. She said it was great. She felt much safer and happier being in the car. Thank you. – Relative of a patient

    Have been trying to phone for two days to book an urgent blood test requested by my doctor. However none of the Bromley GP Alliance phone numbers are connected at this time. Any reason why?

      Apologies that you have not been able to get through. Our phone line system has been down in our whole building but is up and running again. The correct number to book a blood test appointment is 0203 930 0245, the lines are very busy at the moment so it might take a while to get through. If this does not work for you then please reply and I will get one of the team to get in contact with you to book an appointment.

    I would like to book a blood test for 18th, 19th or 22nd of June, I have been for 2 hours to get through, can you help?

      Thank you for raising your issue and we apologise about this! Our phone line system in our whole building was down this morning. If you call 0203 930 0245 now you will be able to get through and book an appointment. I hope this issue is now resolved but if not please let us know.

    I have been calling all morning but I either get a voicemail message that says don’t leave a voicemail, or the person just hangs up the phone without saying anything.

    Re : Trying to book Drive Through Phlebotomy Appointment By Phone.

    Help! Sorry to bother you all at this busy and difficult time. I have been trying for several days to get through both telephone numbers, the second one given to me by Beckenham Beacon Main Reception, without success.

    The numbers I have been trying at different times on each day, have been:-
    020 3 930 0245 – this one rings then it sounds like the phone is picked up and then put down so perhaps there is a fault on this line?

    The second number given to me by Reception yesterday (8/7/20) is 020 3 930 0242. I rang this number yesterday just after 4 pm and was able to leave a message. The Reception staff advised me to try this number again at 9 am onwards this morning (9/7/20) but on both occasions I have tried, it rings for a short while and then cuts off.

    I need to book a drive through appointment for next Thursday 16th July 2020, 9.30 am/10 am or whatever slot you have available, preferably in the morning but don’t know how else to get through.

    Hope you can help.

The correct number to ring to book a blood test is 0203 930 0245.       I would like to say a big thank you to Emily for contacting us to offer a cancelled appointment for my daughter on Tuesday 28th July. Also when I attended for myself on Thursday 16th July, thank you again to Emily for her kindness and thanks to the the phlebotomist too. Despite the initial difficulties in getting through by telephone, the staff and service have been excellent and we are very grateful for all their efforts in continuing to provide this phlebotomy service which has been invaluable to those shielding or to those who would otherwise be unable to travel to any other site.

    I need to make an appointment for my 93 year old mother in law and am unable to get through.
    It sounds as if the line is going dead after ringing a few times. I have tried repeatedly without success. Please can somebody call me. Thank you.

      Please call 0203 930 0245, and the team will be able to help you. To book an appointment in our drive in clinic at Beckenham Beacon you need a car, however, we are still offering appointments at other GP Practices in Bromley.

    Hello, I have been trying to book a blood test as requested by my doctors surgery but every time I call the phone just rings out and nobody every answers. Any ideas how I can book?

    I need to book a blood test on Oct. 5th for a nephrology appointment ten days after that. Oct 5th is the first date I will be back in the UK. I am told it is not possible to book the test until October! People need to plan their lives further than 5 days ahead. What do you suggest?

      Hi Martin, apologies if there has been some miscommunication. We do not yet have the clinics for October set up for booking, however they should be up in a couple of weeks. Therefore, I suggest you give us a call back then to book an appointment.
      If you would prefer one of the team to give you a call when you can book a blood test for 5th October then please reply to this comment and that can be arranged for you.

    I have been trying since yesterday to make a booking for a blood test requested by my GP. Despite my call being “very important to us”, I keep being cut off after 5-10 minutes.

    Is there any other way of making a booking?

      We’re sorry to hear you were cut off yesterday, unfortunately our phone lines have been extremely busy. To counteract this, we have just recently launched an online booking service for blood tests to make it more convenient for patients.

      Please go to our website: https://bromleygpalliance.org/ and scroll down where there will be an option to ‘book now’ – click this and it will take you to the booking system to make your booking.
