The Bromley GP Alliance has been working closely with The Bromley Homeless Shelter to bring a walk in clinic to their homeless guests in the local area.
Based at their Night Shelter in the United Reformed Church, Widmore Road, the clinic runs every Thursday evening in January and February, bringing healthcare services directly to this population.
We have been well supported by local volunteer GPs, and have had input from Bromley Healthcare Podiatry, Bromley Drug and Alcohol services and Bromley Well, to bring much needed medical help and advice over these cold winter months. Apart from managing acute medical problems, we actively encourage registration with GP practices, and signpost to other local services and facilities.
The first few clinics have been well received and we hope to continue to make a positive impact to the homeless population in Bromley and increase engagement with primary care services going forward.
Yesterday BGPA held a raffle in aid of the Bromley Homeless Shelter. We are delighted to have raised £255.
