The Respiratory Hub aimed, and exceeded expectations, to increase the capacity of care services for patients who had ongoing or underlying respiratory conditions and were in urgent need of face-to-face consultations due to their condition. Initially scheduled to close in April, the Respiratory Hubโs services were extended until June 2021 to continue to provide care to Bromley patients.
The Respiratory Hub also utilised new digital technology by operating using an Arc Health remote monitoring kit. The Arc kit ensured that both, GP and patient, were kept safe as they were able to complete their consultations from separate rooms. The technology enabled GPs to examine patients more accurately than previous digital efforts, as the equipment comprised of a thermometer, pulse oximeter, blood pressure monitor, Medicam, stethoscope alongside a webcam and microphone for patients and the doctor to see and talk to each other.
We’d like to say a big thank you to the small group of dedicated GPs who have worked in the Respiratory Hub over the last seven months and our fantastic Respiratory Hub support team for all their hard work.
